Pediatric Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Resident

Dr. Poth is a Pediatric Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Resident. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Psychopathology from the San Diego State University/University of California, San Diego Joint Doctoral Program. She completed her predoctoral internship in pediatric neuropsychology through the University of California, Los Angeles Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.

Dr. Poth’s research has focused on delineating the cognitive and behavioral impacts associated with prenatal alcohol exposure with a particular interest in language and communication abilities. In addition, her work has aimed to identify a profile unique to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) to better aid in identification. Her clinical experience has included neuropsychological assessment of children and young adults with a wide range of cognitive, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety/mood disorders, intellectual or other learning difficulties, epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and other complex medical cases. Dr. Poth’s clinical training has emphasized evidenced-based diagnostic evaluation and assessment to aid in understanding each individual’s profile of abilities to better inform targeted recommendations and interventions.
